IYENGARYOGA CENTER OF CENTRAL SINGAPORE experience

Hellooo... l love BKS Iyenga so much not BTS :) I read BKS light on life a few times it was inspiring and teach you what really yoga should be and guide you how to live lightly but fully. I took a few BKS style yoga and I liked it, usually do with less asanas but properly with well explanation, I'd like to say that quality over quantity yoga if you are lucky to have a good Iyenga teacher, you feel more connect with your body and breath.

There are a few Iyenga yoga in Singapore and I've decided to try Iyengayog center , I've told from the studio that Trisno (main teacher in here) is holding the highest level certification in Sg. Today I attended 930 am morning class L1 (intermediate level) , 75 mins class.

Price : They do not have a monthly membership , drop in 45 sing dollars, or you can buy it credit from 300 dollars (more you visit more you get discount, i.e. if you visit 2 time a week then you get 15% discount so on) personally I found it quite pricy, given that there is no shower and you have to bring your own towels (they would give a towel but they prefer you to bring your own)

Iyengayoga center of central experience with Trisno .

Go to Outram park station exit no 4 , this is the big station and it takes a while to get of of the station and better to know which exit you have to take (1-7or 8 exits there) and the studio is located in very pretty street with nice old style SG houses, the sign of the studio is very small and I think you may pass the studio without noticing ( it took me a longer time to find a studio first visit and I missed the time and this was my second attempt )

 It has on 2nd floor

it is located in a very pretty street with bars and restaurants.. nice to stroll down the street after or before the class

it has men and women toilets but not shower and small lockers to keep your belongings

there is only one studio, it may take 15 students max, has wall bars no mirrors

this is a time table for the lessons and with Trisno they have on line and off line lesson together, plus Chines translation on online class.

OK... enough of that, time to reveal my experience !
First of all , it came to my mind that he is quite serious about yoga ... you think this is what a yoga instructor should be like but a lot of yoga teachers can take yoga as only physical workout. Beginning of class he started with mantra and all students seemed to know and sing together , it was harmonious and beautiful.   He cued well to explain how to engage a part of body and connect to within and carefully watch a student to correct asanas and he'd check student to whether they understood or not.. (but no one said any thing at all :) very quite ) but there was not much flow ..each asana did not seem to connect to second one and middle of class he suddenly told everyone to sit and started to talk I found that a bit of preaching and this also broke the flow of class , I'm sure some students like his class because of that.
He has a unique style of teaching  and I'm thinking of visit the class again.

If you are looking for a yoga class which breaks down a asana and teach you step by step  (such as spread toes and ground feet on the floor , chest up and shoulders back to Tadasana) or if you correct your asanas, or anyone want to try out Iyenga style then.. here we go !!
